Families / individuals may not be able to afford to come to courte.g., pay filing fees, transportation, or court costs, restitution, etc. Low-income families / individuals will not be able to afford legal services.3.GrowingandChangingNeeds/Expectations.Theneedsandexpectationsofthepublicare changing and evolving. For example,a.Even before the coronavirus pandemic and certainly after, people expect/expected to be able to do business with the Courts remotely / virtually 24 x 7 (e.g., remote hearings, virtual services, receive personal assistance via Zoom, e-file, e-pay, etc.). b.Affordable or pro bono legal services and / or self-help services are necessary to ensure access for all people. c.There are growing numbers of people who need navigational and language assistance.d.The number of people who come into contact with law enforcement and the courts who have behavioral health (mental health and/or substance use) issues is increasing.New and different services (e.g., deflection, diversion, treatment) may be needed to effectively assist these individuals.4.Responsive Services/Programs. Courts and community and justice system partners will need to evaluate and modify services and programs to meet the changing needs of people who come into contact with the justice system / courts. For example, more diversion options, mental health and substance abuse treatment services, court navigators who provide personal assistance, to name a few, may be needed. 20232027 Strategic PlanSuperior, Juvenile, and Justice Courts, Pima County 17'
